Zarina Bhimji: Black Pocket, Sharjah Art Foundation, Sharjah
The Sharjah Art Foundation presents a comprehensive survey on Zarina Bhimji’s oeuvre, looking at her seminal works across film, photography and installation. The exhibition features the artist’s early exploration into forms of knowledge overlooked by established systems of order as well as her later exploration of architecture and landscape as arbiters of complex experience and emotion.

not in, of, along, or relating to a line, NYUAD Art Gallery, Abu Dhabi
In this group exhibition featuring Addie Wagenknecht, Cao Fei, Eva and Franco Mattes, Lee Blalock, Maryam Al Hamra, micha cárdenas, Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh, Hesam Rahmanian, Sophia Al-Maria and Zach Blas, artists employ technology for self-expression and self-fashioning. The featured artists explore how identities and histories are created, transformed and invented as they make visible both the restrictions and the freedoms of our digital culture.

Grey Times, Fire Station, Doha
The Fire Station in Doha presents the works of eighteen artists as part of the 2019-2020 Artist in Residence Programme. In response to the current pandemic, Grey Times put forward artworks that were produced in circumstances that reflect the present situation. As a result, many artists have shifted their focus and adapted their lives to adopt to the new norm. Dwelling into memories, anxieties, observations, identity, political issues, and environmental awareness, the works culminate into questioning society and what we consider as uncertain during a global pandemic. The artists include: Aisha Al-Muhannadi, Ameera Al-Aji, Amena Al-Yousef, Ebtesam Al-Hothi, Hadeer Omar, Haytham Sharrouf, Hind Al Saad, Jaser Alagha, Latifa Al-Kuwari, Majdulin Nasrallah, Mariam Rafehi, Maryam Al-Maadhadhi, Mashael Al-Hejazi, Maysaa Almumin, Muna Al-Bader, Naila Al-Thani, Noor Yousef, Suzana Joumaa.

The Permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, Cairo
The Museum of Egyptian Modern Art presents a panoramic display of the pioneers of Modern Egypt’s cultural and artistic scene, with a specific time frame that lies between 1887 and 1975. The long-awaited reopening of the museum took place in December 2020, after six years of closure. Located on the campus of the Egyptian Opera House, it is one of Egypt’s most prominent and important museums. The permanent exhibition features and displays rare works that are less known to the public, from renowned masters to less known artists. Displaying 890 works of art (out of 13,000 works from the Museum’s collection), authored by 709 artists, the permanent exhibition rotates around the museum’s ground and upper floors delving into different themes that reveal the rich cultural scene in modern Egypt.
The museum is open daily from 10:00 to 16:00, except Mondays and Fridays, at the Cairo Opera House grounds.
